Since 1955, EMCS Industries has been at the forefront of maritime innovation, marked by our pioneering launch of the world’s first electrolytic Marine Growth Protection System (MGPS). Our enduring mission is to deliver biofouling management guidance and antifouling and marine corrosion solutions that cater to various maritime applications, underscoring our commitment to excellence and leadership in marine growth prevention.

In 2022, EMCS Industries became the exclusive North American contact for Evac’s Cathelco parts and services, encompassing the United States and Canada. This partnership, deeply rooted in a shared legacy that began 68 years ago in Canada, signifies a strategic alignment of our histories and values. It represents a concerted effort to enhance the comprehensive, turnkey services our customers rely on.

The evolution of the MARELCO™ brand further exemplifies our dedication to innovation into a globally recognized name for antifouling and anticorrosion systems. These antifouling solutions are designed not just for cost efficiency but also to improve marine assets’ operational and environmental performance. Our commitment to quality is absolute, with each product backed by a lifetime warranty and the promise of superior performance, contingent upon expert supervision, inspection, and commissioning by an accredited EMCS Industries technician.

Understanding the complex challenges posed by diverse marine environments, we offer bespoke antifouling solutions and marine corrosion prevention strategies tailored to meet the unique demands of each project. Our technicians are dedicated to crafting solutions that address your needs, ensuring your assets are protected with the most effective and sustainable approaches.

At EMCS Industries, we pride ourselves on providing responsive, proactive, and reliable support and technical advice that our clients can depend on for uninterrupted operations. Our comprehensive approach to biofouling management and marine growth protection mitigates maintenance challenges. It aligns with global sustainability and regulatory compliance, setting new standards in maritime asset protection and performance enhancement.

SURICLE™ Antifouling Solutions

Suricle™ is unique in its design. It is not paint but rather a patented polyurethane product using a cold spray process which embeds micron-sized particles into an adhesive 3M polymer film at supersonic speeds, creating a nonconductive, incredibly durable one-of-a-kind antifouling surface. Hence, there’s no need for time-consuming application of multiple layers of different coatings. No adhesive is required, all you need is a water spray to facilitate its application which can occur in seconds. Moreover, Suricle™ can be applied to wet surfaces and also inhibits corrosion.

In today’s rapidly expanding marine industry, submerged static artificial structures (SSAS) used for offshore meteorological, environmental, tsunami monitoring stations, oil and gas, aquaculture, renewable energy, desalination plants, marine farms, etc are particularly susceptible to the deleterious impacts from biofouling. This unrelenting accumulation of biofouling severely impacts these critical assets’ functionality, longevity and integrity, leading to increased operational costs and downtime.

Cathelco Marine Growth Prevention System (MGPS)

Cathelco marine growth prevention systems (MGPSs) are cost-effective for preventing marine growth in seawater pipework. Widely utilized on ships across the globe, Cathelco offers easy installation and affordability.

Cathelco MGPS is available for vessels of all sizes and plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal vessel performance. Without proper antifouling protection, pipes can quickly become encrusted with organisms, leading to detrimental blockages that hamper the efficiency of the seawater cooling system.

Don’t let marine growth impede your vessel’s performance. Explore the comprehensive range of Cathelco MGPSs today and ensure smooth sailing for your operations.

Impressed Current Cathodic Protection

The Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system offers a comprehensive solution for safeguarding ship hulls against corrosion throughout their operational lifespan. This advanced technology is designed to work synergistically with compatible protective coatings, creating a robust defence mechanism against marine corrosion.

Implementing an ICCP system significantly mitigates the risk of corrosion on aluminum and steel hulls. However, the benefits of using an ICCP system extend beyond corrosion prevention. By maintaining the hull in optimal condition, vessel owners can enjoy prolonged hull life cycles and potential savings in fuel costs due to the maintained efficiency of the vessel’s structure. This technology is adaptable to a wide range of vessels, providing a versatile solution to the universal challenge of marine corrosion.

The commitment to protecting maritime investments is underscored by the provision of long-term warranties with ICCP systems, offering vessel owners confidence in the durability and effectiveness of their corrosion protection strategy. Ensuring that vessels remain operational and in prime condition for extended periods, highlighting the ICCP system’s role as a critical component in modern maritime operations.
